Levitation Room is one of California's leading purveyors of contemporary psychedelia, reveling in trippy, expansive guitar-based music. Initially inspired by the bandmembers' love of classic garage rock played with a psychedelic twist, Levitation Room faithfully re-create the sounds they loved from the 1960s and '70s while making room for their own creative voice. Their debut album, Ethos, is a note-perfect, lo-fi, fuzz pedal-driven homage to garage psych. On 2019's Headspace, they expanded their range to incorporate heavier guitar sounds, mellower melodies, R&B swagger, and fuller arrangements. 2024's Strange Weather shifted their creative direction as the sounds of '70s soft rock became a significant part of their formula, and they investigated new musical and emotional dynamics on the 2026 EP Equinox.
